Now you are an artist… What’s next?
I hear it all of the time these days. There is no money in creating artistic content or in being an artist at all. It is hard to be creative and pay the bills. Bands and musicians are having trouble selling their music anymore, because everyone is downloading for free. First of all, if you are doing it, “For The Money,” it is nice to know that making money off art is complex, difficult and a lot of work. On the other hand, if you are not doing it, “For The Money,” it is nice to know that, I think it would be nice for all artists to make money off their art work. Fargotube has created a way where artists can take more control over their “business,” and create a strategy that puts them in control of their careers.
Fargotube is your Entertainment Social Media Network. One of our goals is to help you make money off your content. It is designed to allow you to monetize your content, on your own terms. Fans can stream videos, movies, shows or music for 1 day, 2 days, or indefinitely, at the price you set. Fans can also download music and videos at any price you set. You can also charge for photos or have tube subscriptions. Fargotube allows you to charge your fans a monthly or annual fee to access your tube.
Either way you look at art and business, if you are going to get paid to make videos, music, movies or content, the most important thing to consider is your connection to your fans and potential fans. All bands/musicians/artists are different so, most likely, your community of fans and customers will not be the same as the next guy. Take this advice as you will. It is nice to have a fan who likes you music, video, movie or art... but if you get them to like YOU, then you have a better chance of having a fan for life. Despite what you have heard, there is not a formula that can magically make you noticed by millions of fans. However, if you follow a few simple tips, Fargotube can help you turn your art into a successful business.
Be Legitimate
You cannot buy of your fans and throw free content their way and expect them to love you. You must earn people's attention with your creativity. Building a relationship with a fan is like any other relationship, and it takes time to earn their trust. Fans want to know that you believe in something, and they also want to know that you are willing to put out content that will continually give them a reason to love you. Earn that over time... Build your fan base but keep in mind that fans flock to those artists who create... over a long period of time.
Be Transparent
Don't Act like a rock star if you are not. It's okay to admit that you play small shows at coffee shops. Fans connect with honesty and originality. If you act fake, it is easy to see that from a mile away. Tell the truth about your art and music. You are not the only poor artist out there, and there is no shame in being a hard working artist. There is also nothing wrong with admitting you want fame and money. Every artist wanted to put their content in front of millions of people... That is fame, and money often follows. So be yourself and do what you love!
Be Consistent
People love social media. Fans love Fargotube, and one way to keep them coming back to your tube is to be consistent. Post anew update every day. If you are in a band complaining about your local basketball team, that may not be appropriate to some fans, so keep your content relevant. Stay professional, but don't be uptight. Your fans are people and they want to be talked to... not talked at! Have a Monday picture day... a fan picture Thursday event once a week... or come up with a video once a week... same day... same time...
Keep your fans in the loop... Never too much... never too little... Don't confuse them... and don't lose them!
Now… to all of you artists and content owners... Get creative! Fargotube has done the rest for you. It is time to make money back on your investment and show your fans that you mean business!
